| Worship at St. Mark's
Worship is the core of St. Mark's. We offer two Eucharists each Sunday, at 8:00am and 10:00am. There are also Eucharists on Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:10pm. Our services are normally offered according to Rite II of the Book of Common Prayer. For five weeks each year, often during Lent, we use Rite I. For five additional weeks at a different time each year, we use an approved alternative liturgy. For congregational singing, we make use of the Hymnal 1982 as well as the supplementary collections Wonder, Love, and Praise and Voices Found. The 8:00am Sunday Eucharist is offered in our chapel. It is a simple spoken liturgy with no music. A sermon is preached. The weekday 12:10pm Eucharist is similar, with a short homily or silent meditation time. The 10:00am Sunday Eucharist is offered in the Nave. This service includes hymns, service music, and choral anthems (September through June) accompanied on the organ and piano. A sermon is preached. |
