ESSAY QUESTIONS
Please respond to each of the following five questions in not more than 1,000 words each.
- How would you as rector help a parish grow from a pastoral size to a program size parish? What do you see as potential challenges and benefits in that transition?
- We are interested in moving from a traditional "clergy knows best" model of leadership to a way of being that values the gifts of the entire congregation. In what specific ways have you participated in such a change? How have you participated in shared leadership and encouraged it in a congregation?
- Describe a difficult situation in your ministry that you believe you resolved effectively. How did you reach a resolution?
- Liturgy and music together form one of our parish's most valued ministries. As rector, how would you support its current excellence and collaborate in the exploration of additional forms of beautiful liturgy and music? Draw on your personal interests and your professional/pastoral experience to frame your response.
- Describe from your personal experience what you could bring to area ministry in the Diocese of California.
