Christian Education Programs
| Adult Education Programs |
| The Adult Formation Committee presents a wide variety of educational experiences for the parish. These include forums, short programs, bible study classes, retreats, quiet days, book studies, outings, and other educational events cover the breadth of the Christian tradition and touch issues of social concern within the community. Any and all are most welcome to come to committee meetings, which are publicized in the Sunday bulletins and in The LION church newsletter well in advance. |
| Theological Discussion Group This growing and diverse band of freethinkers and spiritual pilgrims meets monthly to talk about God, life, the universe, and everything. We meet on the Second Wednesday of the Month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in Hodgkin Hall. Recent discussions focused on the topics of Revelation, Providence, and Atheism. Readings are frequently provided before the meeting. Light refreshments will be served. Contact Jay Gaskill at (510) 769-8123 or jgaskill@yahoo.com. |
| Children's Christian Education |
| The Children's Christian Education committee works in areas of education including church school, youth, and special celebrations. We welcome new ideas and members, especially those interested in becoming resource people or teachers in the Sunday School or youth program. |
| The Church School provides Christian nurture in classes for children from three years old through fifth grade during the 10 AM service on Sundays. Classes take place in Williams Hall throughout the school year. |
| The Church School Families group provides fellowship and produces special events for families with children of church school age.
|
| The Youth Group is not segregated from the congregation. Our youth program involves young people in the overall life of the parish as vestry members, liturgical participants, and child care providers. |
