Sunday Parking during Garage Closure (as of June 1, 2013)

The University of California lot under the Recreational Sports Facility on Bancroft Way, across the street from the church (on Bancroft at Ellsworth), charges $1/hr for the first two hours and $2/hr thereafter. The kiosk accepts credit cards or $1, $5 and $10 (but no coins) and does not give change. Remember the number of your parking space, as you will need to enter that number when you pre-pay your parking. The university actively tickets, so be sure to buy enough time. But, this is a good bet -- remember, do not use a space marked "reserved."

UC Berkeley also has a parking structure at Channing and Ellsworth, two blocks south of St. Mark's. It can be accessed driving either east or west on Channing Way just east of Ellsworth Street, or from Haste Street between Dana and Ellsworth. On weekends and after 5 p.m. weekdays, public parkers may use all non-Reserved spaces (avoid those marked “RH Reserved”). Although the fee is currently $0.50 per half-hour or fraction thereof, the price will increase in the early summer of 2013 to $1/hr. for the first two hours and $2/hr. thereafter. Currently, a receipt must be obtained from the yellow kiosk and displayed on the vehicle’s dashboard. This kiosk operates differently from that in the Recreational Sports Facility, but displays its instructions clearly. The lot currently accepts $1 and $5 bills as well as nickels, dimes, and quarters, but does not dispense change. When the price increases, the new kiosk machines will also take credit cards and require the number of your parking space.

Note: University of California lots charge a premium when there is a university event such as a basketball game, football game, or a concert. These, however, do not occur on Sunday mornings.

Street parking is usually available on Sunday morning (2 hour or metered other times).

Accessibility

All of Saint Mark's public areas are accessible. There are two access ramps from Bancroft Way on the north side of the church into the Parish House (church office and library) and into our worship spaces (chapel and nave). A wheelchair lift in the chapel provides access to the altar area inside the church. Accessible bathrooms are in the Parish House and in Hodgkin Hall (south side of the patio). There is an elevator that provides access to the second floor Parish Hall.
